Problem:

Cannot activate the call forwarding function

Solution:

Call forwarding function on softphone:

a)       Normal way for users to set up call-forwarding:

1)       Turn on VPN

2)       Launch the My Instant Communicator (MyIC) softphone application

3)       Users can change the call-routing profile by right-clicking on the MyIC icon in the taskbar

4)       Select “My routing profile”

5)       Select “Forward other”

6)       A pop-up window will appear

7)       Have the user fill in their other/mobile number in the top field

8)       Click on “Apply” to save the change, and “Ok” to exit.

9)       The MyIC App should pop up a message to say that calls have been forwarded to the user’s other/mobile number.

b)       In the event that the users are unable to set up the call-forwarding normally, please follow these steps:

1)       Turn on VPN

2)       Launch the My Instant Communicator (MyIC) softphone application

3)       Right-click on the MyIC icon in the taskbar

4)       Select Options

5)       Select “Open My Routing Number”

6)       A windows Internet Explorer (IE) window should pop up

7)       There will be 4 rows of items on the IE screen: 1st row having being a Turn on/off  button

8)       Click on the “Configuration” button of the 2nd row, it looks like a small spanner with a gear

9)       You should come to second page with another 3 rows.

10)   Click on the drop down menu of the first row that says “Route Calls to”, and select “Other number”

11)   2 more columns should pop up, “Name” and “Number”.

12)   Entire the user’s name in the “Name Column” and enter the user’s mobile number in the “Number column”.

13)   Click on “Ok” at the bottom right side of the screen to save

14)   You should go back to the 1st page see in Step 7).

15)   Now click on the Turn On/off button in the 1st row. The Turn on/off button is just a red circle when off, and turns green when turned On.

16)   Once turned on, you can close this IE window.

17)   Give your DID number a test call, and see if the call is forwarded to your mobile number instead.
